What is the Haut Armagnac?
The “Haut” or High Armagnac, is one of three sub-regions of production instituted by the decree of Fallières in 1909. It has carried the AOC designation for Armagnac production since 1936. The Haut Armagnac is characterized by its rocky layers of clay-limestone soil, called peyrusquets, act as a cool filter, producing a light and floral eau de vie.
